About Liberty Tree Photography

An unassuming old Elm stood in the heart of 18th century Boston. This elm, the Liberty Tree, was a living symbol of freedom and unity to the generation of revolutionaries and free thinkers who shared inspiration, ideas and sense of community in the shadows of its boughs.

While I have grown up with greater freedoms than in 18th century Boston, I have struggled, at times, to hold true to my ideas and values, and to maintain integrity through my expression of art.

The Liberty Tree is symbolic to me because it reflects the foundational values upon which I seek to build my business. Values such as integrity, creativity, equality, loyalty, balance, spirituality, discipline, conscious living and of course, freedom of expression.

In my work, I aim to capture the essence of my clients' unique personalities and turn them into lasting works of art. People get gray hair, stretch marks on a round pregnant tummy, or want to lose those last 5 pounds but I love documenting the way things really are. I don't photoshop those things out. That's life. Embrace it. I hope that my images will serve as reminders of a time and place, an emotion and event, an age and energy, and have the details presented accurately, not perfectly.

As the Liberty Tree was an historic gathering place for pushing back the bounds of convention, it is my hope that here you will discover the inspiration that guides my work.

... Break free. Embrace Liberty.
