My interest in photography emerged in middle school, though my love of art and design was present from my earliest childhood. Art classes throughout my school years were, at times, a challenge. My projects seemed to suggest a unique perspective and style from that of many classmates, and some teachers found it hard to resist the urge to push me toward class conformity. However young I was, I managed to find a way to convince the teachers of what I had in mind for my unconventional creativity. And although this creativity was not always understood or rewarded at school, I was most fortunate to be surrounded by an extended family where this was nourished and I was encouraged to explore, discover and push the bounds of artistic convention.

British Columbia, my home province, has always provided me with a never-ending source of beauty, inspiration and rejuvenation of soul and spirit. Just when I think that a particular stream or field near my house could not get any more beautiful, it snows, or it rains, and the lighting changes altogether and I find myself filled with new wonder at the scene before me. I have lived in several places throughout the province and loved them all. There is just so much to see and do – and capture in image form – on this western side of our great country.

A few of the foundational values upon which I rest my beliefs include the importance of family, community & spirituality, honesty, kindness, networking & collaboration, respect for other cultures, and conscious living. One of my goals is to combine my love for photography and art with greener living, and to be sure that my business practices are a reflection of my values. If you look at my images and are moved by by them, then I’ve done my job.

I live in Chilliwack, B.C. with my husband Jamie and our two-year-old son, Rohan.
